Have you considered a funeral plan with a personal goodbye service for loved ones to attend from £2,495?
Pure Cremation and Memoria Funerals both offer prepaid funeral plans, however one of the key differences is that Pure Cremation has only one direct cremation funeral plan, whereas Memoria Funerals offer a choice with, or without a service, depending on your wishes.
Let’s look a bit further at some of these different options to help you decide which funeral plan is right for you.
At Memoria Funerals we understand that for many the bells and whistles of a traditional funeral can be an unnecessary expense, but equally we understand how important it can be for those left behind to say goodbye at the crematorium. This is why we have created the Personal Plan, a cremation with a service where your family and friends can say a uniquely personal goodbye, in their own way, without all the extras.
Pure Cremation is different in this respect as they only offer direct cremations, with no service.

A direct cremation is a new type of funeral that more people than ever are choosing. Why? Because it can reduce the stress, ceremony, and cost of a traditional funeral, and for families that are spread out, where coming together is difficult it makes practical sense. Direct cremation is certainly right for some people, which is why we also offer two direct cremation funeral plans.
However, we think there’s also a place for a sensibly priced funeral plan with a service that removes much of the cost and fuss of a traditional funeral, but still gives loved ones the opportunity to hold a small gathering at the crematorium and say a personal goodbye.

With Memoria Funerals a simple attended funeral, the Personal Plan, offers a smaller gathering of up to 25 the opportunity to spend 30 minutes with their departed loved one in the crematorium. It’s also at an off-peak time in the morning, which means it’s more cost-efficient.

And by having this small gathering of up to 25 people you don’t need to organise another farewell event – unless you wish to – saving your family cost, and additional worry.
We believe a funeral should be as unique as the person it’s for, whether that’s sharing eulogies, anecdotes, stories, favourite poems or favourite music. Maybe those who wish, placing a flower on the coffin, or a football scarf, or even a photo or letter, whatever is a true reflection of your wishes.
Whatever your wishes are, just note it down and when the time comes, our caring and experienced arrangers will make sure it’s a truly personal affair for someone departed and much loved.

When you’re choosing any kind of financial product, trust is paramount. With Memoria Funerals, your funeral plan payments are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
We know from the thousands of families we have supported that people no longer want a ‘one size fits all funeral’. It’s a personal choice, whether that is a full bells and whistles traditional funeral, a smaller, more personal service, or a direct cremation.
So for this reason, we also offer unattended, direct cremation plans. This type of funeral plan could be the right option for you if you are concerned about keeping costs as low as possible, or simply prefer a no-fuss direct cremation. In this case our Direct Cremation Premium Plan is available, providing exactly the same service as a Pure Cremation funeral plan at a slightly lower cost.

When comparing funeral plans it’s essential to consider the type of services offered, their cost, and additional features, so you can be certain you have chosen the plan that best suits your needs and preferences.
There are three columns in the table. Firstly, Pure Cremation’s only option – an unattended cremation plan, alongside Memoria Funerals’ equivalent – The Direct Cremation Premium Plan. The last column, highlighted in blue, is Memoria Funerals’ Personal Plan a smaller funeral with a service for loved ones to say a unique and personal goodbye at a crematorium of your choice, so you can stay close to home.
It’s worth noting that Pure Cremation only have one crematorium in Hampshire, so DO NOT offer any attended funeral plans that include a funeral service. With 14 crematoria in the Memoria group, we are able to provide a consistent price for an attended plan across our network, or indeed at any crematorium of your choice.
In short, with Memoria Funerals plans you get a greater choice and greater flexibility.
And of course, locking in the essential requirements and costs of a funeral and removing the worry of future price rises can be key reasons to purchase a funeral plan.
Look at our table below to see how our plans compare…
Hearse: £400 – Transportation of the deceased to the crematorium in a private ambulance is included, however you can upgrade to a hearse if you prefer.
Limousine: – Family and friends can provide their own transport, or you can add a limousine that will seat 6 to 7 people.
Officiant: £250 – Family can conduct the funeral service or you can choose a religious or non-religious officiant for an additional fee if preferred.
*These services not included may be required at the time of need, depending on your circumstances. The extra costs for these services if needed today would be:
Oversize coffin: £250 – Standard sized coffins are included, but larger sizes require specialist equipment which has an additional cost.
Hand delivery of ashes: £100
