Memoria Appoints Steve Wallis as Chief Executive, Signalling a New Era of Collaboration

Memoria, one of the UK’s leading crematoria and funeral service providers, has appointed Steve Wallis as its new Chief Executive Officer. Steve brings with him 28 years of funeral sector experience, including two decades at Dignity, where he served as Group Commercial Director, leadership roles at Westerleigh, and Steve was also a key figure in the creation of the National Association of Funeral Plan Providers (NAFPP).

Commenting on his appointment, Steve said:

“I am delighted to be joining Memoria and leading a business with such passionate and caring people. Having already met many of our colleagues, I’ve been impressed by their dedication and professionalism. This is a new chapter for Memoria, one where we will focus on enhancing our services, investing in our crematoria, and building collaborative relationships across the sector.”

“I believe serving families at their time of need is one of the most important responsibilities any organisation can have. It’s a privilege I take seriously, and I’m looking forward to ensuring Memoria continues to serve with care, respect, and dignity.”

Steve’s appointment marks a strategic shift for Memoria, whose previous owners, the Hodgson family, recently stepped back from involvement. Under new leadership, Memoria is committed to strengthening ties with funeral directors, associations, and stakeholders to help improve standards and accessibility across the sector.
