The crematorium opened in 2015 and offers cremation, traditional burial and natural burial, set in a magnificent park with manicured gardens and restful country views. Positioned on the B6179 Derby Road between Alfreton and Swanwick, it was designed to sit gently within the island of green space between the two villages.
Inside, the chapel provides seating for 100 people and can stand and seat 200 when the foyer space is included. For the largest gatherings, services of over 400 people can be accommodated on site by piping the service outside under the porte-cochere. The chapel may be used for cremation, burial or memorial services. There is parking for 60 vehicles, plus overflow capacity for around an additional 40 places.
Services run at one-hour intervals, with the option to extend upon request, and can also be booked outside of normal hours and at weekends.
